The Big Motor was launched by Christopher Valentine in 2018.  The mission statement was simple, yet direct: to make interesting and challenging music, yet to remain musically accessible to both the casual and immersive listener. Influences range everyone from J.S. Bach to Live at Leeds-era The Who, from Pink Floyd to Prokofiev, from Beethoven to the Beatles, from Jimmy Smith to The Smiths. The Big Motor’s first eponymous release can be found on Spotify, Apple Music (under The Big Motor—NYC), and all other major streaming musical formats.
